NTSB narrative

On August 2, 2018, about 1930 UTC, a Piper PA-28-181 airplane, French registration F-GKEC, sustained a loss of engine power while on approach to the Lyon-Bron Airport (LFLY), near Décines, France. The two occupants onboard sustained no injury. The airplane sustained substantial damage during the forced landing. The accident investigation is under the jurisdiction and control of the French government.
