About This Service

The Pilot Debrief app is an aviation safety platform derived from official NTSB data and professional debriefing doctrine. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the NTSB or the FAA. All content is provided for educational and aviation safety purposes.

What We Collect

Account information: When you create an account, our sign-in provider collects your email address and the sign-in method you choose. We store your email address and an account identifier so we can recognise you.

What you enter: Mission plans, post-flight debriefs, notes, and items you save are stored so you can return to them. They are visible only to you (and, if you choose to share a debrief with an instructor, to that person).

Search queries: Searches you run in the accident database are recorded to improve search. They are not linked to your account.

Subscription information: If you buy a paid plan, our payment processor handles your card details. We never see or store your card number; we store which plan you are on and its billing status.

Server logs: Like most services, our systems record basic technical information for security and reliability, including IP addresses, browser type, and request timestamps.

Communications: If you contact us by email, we keep your message and contact details in order to respond.

Accounts carried over from Mission Ready

If you had an account on Mission Ready (risk.pilotdebrief.com), your account, mission plans, and debriefs may be carried over to the app so you keep your history. Mission Ready is also operated by Pilot Debrief.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep you signed in and to remember preferences such as display settings. These are functional cookies that the app needs in order to work. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking them may prevent sign-in.

Third Parties

We use service providers to run the app, and they process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies: a sign-in provider (Clerk), a database provider (Neon), a hosting provider, a payment processor (Stripe), and email delivery services for account and newsletter messages. We do not sell personal information.

Data Retention

We keep your account data and the content you enter for as long as your account exists. Server logs are kept for a reasonable period for security and operational purposes.

Your Choices

• Use your browser settings to control or delete cookies
• Manage or cancel a paid plan from your Subscription page
• Email us to request a copy of the data we hold about you, or to close your account and delete your content
