The glider pilot reported that, while in the base leg in the traffic pattern, the glider was "fast and too high." He added that, during the landing, he landed long, the glider ran off the end of the runway, and the left wing struck a storage trailer parked on the left. The glider sustained substantial damage to the left wing and fuselage. The pilot reported that there were no preaccident mechanical failures or malfunctions with the glider that would have precluded normal operation.
