Probable cause
The pilot’s failure to maintain clearance from brush during landing.
NTSB narrative
The pilot reported that during landing on a remote gravel bar in a tailwheel-equipped airplane he struck a stand of brush that resulted in substantial damage to the right wing. The pilot reported that there were no preaccident mechanical failures or malfunctions with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation. The pilot did not submit the NTSB Pilot/Operator Aircraft Accident/Incident Report Form 6120.1.
